Originality and tradition in Luis Oyarzún`s Diario Íntimo

Abstract

We propose in this work to exhibit some ideas about the diary as literary genre. We will try to establish his origins and his relation with other genres of the intimacy, since there are the memoirs and the autobiographical testimonies. From this framing, we will explore the peculiarities that Luis Oyarzún`s Diario Íntimo offers in relation to key works of the genre. We will emphasize some textual and style issues that conform it as an excellent work of the genre in the Spanish-American context.
